The Bachelor of Theology program offers a comprehensive exploration of life and faith through the study of scriptures, theological traditions, and historical contexts. This course is designed to enhance self-awareness and promote cultural engagement.
Students will gain broad knowledge across various theological disciplines while also having the opportunity to delve deeply into specific areas of interest. The program emphasizes the development of research and communication skills, preparing graduates for advanced theological studies. Additionally, students may have the option to integrate practical ministry experience into their coursework.

You'll be introduced to four main sub-disciplines of theology: Biblical studies, church history, systematic and practical theology subjects. You'll also have the opportunity to choose elective subjects within these disciplines to tailor your studies to meet your interests.

Admission Requirements and Graduation Criteria
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have successfully completed the state-issued Certificate of Education from an Australian secondary school or an equivalent qualification.
Prospective students should apply directly to St Francis College. The University of Divinity does not use the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) for selection.
Students may be eligible for credit towards their course for prior undergraduate studies in related fields.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 24 subjects.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Theology:
Possess a broad, coherent, and critical understanding of Christian theological traditions and methodologies, with specialized knowledge in at least one area.
Can articulate their acquired knowledge to generate insights and communicate them through clear, reasoned arguments.
Are capable of engaging with theological traditions and contemporary culture.
Have a theologically informed foundation for community engagement and service.

The Bachelor of Theology requires completion of 24 standard undergraduate units. Fees for 2025 are $2,109 per standard unit or $16,872 for a year of full-time study (8 units).
